mother was a resident of the
apartments. Although she is no
longer a resident, the Aronovitzes
still continue their weekly visits.
Volunteers work in the office, in
the apartthents store, assist with
programs and perform services for

Two staff members and the aux-
iliary of the Jewish Home for
Aged were recognized at the an,
nual conference of the Michigan
Non-Profit Homes Association.
Stephen Roizen, associate di-
rector, was elected to his first
term on the board of directors of
the association.
Cheryl Riskin, assistant direc-
tor, received the President's
Award at the annual award cere-
mony.
The auxiliary was singled out
for the group volunteer of the year
award for its Butzel Vacation
Program. Accepting the award for
the auxiliary were Marilyn
Fishman, Sheldon Fishman and
Anna Mickel.

BBYO

The next BBYO adviser con-
tinuing education session will
take place Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at the
BBYO office. The agenda will in-
clude programs on the adviser's
role in program planning, mem-
bership recruitment, and a pre-
view of the forthcoming regional
convention. An adviser associa-
tion meeting will also be held im-
mediately following the continu-
ing education session.
The next meeting of the Great
Lakes AZA Council will be held at
7 p.m. Nov. 5 at the B'nai B'rith
Building. The Great Lakes BBG
Council will meet Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
in the same facility. Each AZA
and BBG chapter is expected to be
represented at these meetings
with their chapter president and
at least two other delegates.
BBYO is in the process of or-
ganizing a new BBG chapter in
the Bloomfield Hills-West Bloom-
field area. The chapter is open to
Jewish girls, ages 14-18, or grade
nine through 12. The next meet-
ing will be on Sunday at 7 p.m. in
the home of Cyndi Kahn, 4428
Westover, West Bloomfield. For

bin, program supervisor, 352-
2538.
A regional convention steering
committee meeting will be held on
Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. at the B'nai B'rith
Building. All chapter presidents
and regional convention chair-
men are asked to attend. The con-
vention will take place Dec. 23-27
at the Jewish Community Center.
