ZWEIBEL KUCHEN

2 cups flour
3 tbsps. oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 cup warm water
4 large onions, diced fine
-4 tbsps._ butter
paprika
Put flour in mixing bowl. Stir in
oil and salt. Mix 1 pkg. yeast in 1/2
cup warm water and add to flour
mixture. Knead until firm and
smooth. Place in refrigerator
until dough is firm. Roll with rol-
ling pin until dough is very thin
(size of cookie sheet). Spread
dough with onions that have been
browned in 4 tbsps. butter.
Sprinkle with paprika and bake
until golden brown in 375-degree
oven. Cut in 2" x 4" pieces and
I serve.

CHICKEN ISRAELI STYLE

1 medium chicken
1 onion
1 large stalk celery
1. carrot
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. red pepper (paprika)
1 cup white wine
- 3 tbsps. vegetable oil
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup dry raisins
1 orange
Cut chicken into serving por-
tions. Arrange in deep baking
tray with skin facing down. Cut
onion, celery and carrot into thin
slices; spread over chicken. Sea-
son with pepper, cumin and pap-
rika. Pour wine, oil and orange
juice over everything. Let sit 30
minutes for chicken to allsorb the
different flavors. Cover tray wth
aluminum foil; bake 1 hour in
350-degree oven. After 1 hour,
remove cover, turn-chicken pieces
skin-side up, spread with raisins,
bake uncovered 30 minutes. Serve
hot, decorated with orange slices.
Serves 4-6.
