Hospital unit
on drugs, alcohol
plans open house
Botsford General Hospital will
conduct an open house for its
chemical dependency unit on
Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the
community room of Botsford's
Education and Administration
Center. The public is invited.
, The unit has been admitting
persons with alcohol and drug
; problems since Oct. 1. During the
three-five day stay, patients
undergo an intensive medical and
therapeutic program involving
careful monitoring of the with-
drawal stages, education on the
disease and motivation to con-
tinue treatment beyond hospitali-
2.-ation.
The unit is being administered
jointly by Botsford and Insight, a
Flint-based treatment agency
with similar acute care programs
at hospitals in Flint, Saginaw and
Lansing.
