Professional Endowment Institute

Fred T. Goldberg, chief counsel
of the Internal Revenue Service in
IVashington, D.C., will be the
Keynote speaker at the Profes-
sional Endowment Institute set
for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Somerset
Inn.

Endowment Fund of the Jewish
Welfare Federation, its United
ti ewish Charities and member
agencies, the seminar provides an
opportunity for attorneys, cer-
tified public accountants and in-
surance specialists to discuss such
topics as current IRS policy and
its impact on charity.

--panel presentation dealng with
tax benefits and opportunities for
charitable giving. Panelists in-
clude attorneys Teryl L. Minasian
and Jerrold M. Bigelman; insur-
ance agent Fred L. Goldenberg;
and Bernard Kent, CPA.

Federation public relations cited

The Jewish Welfare Federation
of Detroit won three awards for
excellence in public relations at
the 1984 national competition
sponsored by the Council of
Jewish Federations.
The JWF newsletter, Commu-
nity Currents, earned a silver
award in the large-city category.
A bronze award went to Federa-
tion for its slide show, "Never
Take No for an Answer," a guide
to telephone solicitation, which
starred Allied Jewish Campaign
volunteers and was narrated by
-Harry Goldstein. Sheldon Cohn
assisted in the show's production.
Federation also received honora-
ble mention for its 1983 annual

comprised of delegates from
Jewish federations throughout
