MOVIES MOBILE) Reagan to Peres Continued from Page 28 vate Israeli and U.S. economists. The official noted that al- though various figures on additional U.S. aid to Israel were discussed no firm figure was agreed upon and probably would not be until after the new joint committee meets. An Israeli official noted that no new figure would be pro- posed until the new Congress meets, and by that time there will be a better picture on how the economic measures taken by the new Israeli government are working. Reagan noted that the eco- nomic support funds and other funds that the Congress hag appropriated for Israel come at an opportune time for they will enable Israel to develop its programs without having to divert undo attention to balance-of-payments prob- lems." Should such problems arise, the United States has pledged to work closely with the Israeli government to avert them. As Peres and Shamir ar- rived at the White House, some 50 members of the Neturei Karta protested against the existence of Israel in Lafayette Park across the street. During his two-day stay in Washington, Peres met with Reagan, Shultz, Vice President George Bush, Weinberger, Treasury Secre- tary Donald Regan, Congres- sional leaders and AFL-CIO President Lane Kirkland. After leaving Washington, Peres flew to New York for meetings with the Conference of Presidents of Major Ameri- can Jewish Organizations, the Council on Foreign Relations and Democratic Presidential candidate Walter Mondale. On Thursday, the first day of Succot, Peres was scheduled to meet in his hotel suite with former Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and Cyrus Vance, black civil rights leader Bayard Rustin and U.S. Ambassador to the United Na- tions Jeane Kirkpatrick. U.N. Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar will meet with Peres today fol- lowed by a visit by Governor Mario Cuomo of New York. On Saturday, his last in the United States before return- ing to Israel, Peres will meet with former Sen. Jacob Javits.
