memorial, Peters will speak at 10
a.m. Nov. 13.
She has speci'alized in the
Arab-Israeli conflict for more
than a decade. Formerly a re-
porter for the Chicago Daily
News, Peters has written about
political matters ranging from
events in Central America and
the Soviet Union to the activities
of the Ku Klux Klan, for publica-
tions including Harper's, Corn-
mentary, The New Republic, The
New Leader, and Chicago Tribute
and t he Chicago Sun-Times. She
has also been on special assign-
ment for CBS and PBS. Peters has
lectured and served as a consul-
tant on the Arab-Jewish conflict
and has participated in national
and international foreign policy
forums.

lived close to the principal actors
in the unfolding drama of the last
50 years. He is currently affiliated
with Independent News Network.
He began his career as one of the
first broadcasters. for Voice of
America and served as an Army
correspondent through World
War II.
As one of the original CBS news
correspondents, Schoenbrun
worked with Edward R. Murrow,
Eric Sevareid, Howard K. Smith
and Walter Cronkite. He was
chief CBS news correspondent in
Paris and Washington, and won
the Overseas Press Club awards
for best radio reporting, best tele-
vision reporting, best magazine
article and best book of the year.
In his newest book, American
Inside Out: At Home and Abroad
From Roosevelt to Reagan,
Schoenbrun chronicles a half-
century of world events and lead-
ers.

Sisterhood Day, Nov. 12, will
feature Frederic Morton at 1 p.m.
As a boy in 1939, Morton escaped
the Nazis with two priceless pos-
sessions — a vivid memory of his
Viennese boyhood, and a major
narrative gift. The Forever Street,
his latest book, is a novel set in
Vienna during the period from
1873 until the coming of the Nazis
in 1938
