Friends of Shaare Zedek Hospital
at 6 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Cong.

The Markels established an
endowment for a scholarship in-
vestment fund at Shaare Zedek's
school of nursing. This gift per-
manently underwrites the nurs-

ing scholarship program. An-
nually the fund provides a schol-
arship for a nursing student's
educational, housing and living
expenses.
Dr. Markel is a graduate of the
Wayne State University School of
Medicine and has been a practic-
ing physician for over 50 years.
He is a diplomate of the American
