Dave Glanz, president of Cong.
Shaar Hashomayim, in Windsor,
announces that Rabbi-Cantor
Edward S. Feigelman has been
engaged as spiritual leader.
The congregation welcomed its
new rabbi and his family at an
installation brunch.
Rabbi Feigelman was born in
Detroit, where he received his
elementary education. The son of
Mr. and Mrs. Julius (Bea)
Feigelman of Southfield, he
studied Torah with Rabbi Charles
Rosenzveig, and chazzanut with
Cantor Hyman J. Adler during
his teen years.
Rabbi Feigelman attended
Yeshiva University in New York
City, where he received his B.A.
degree in music, cantorial dip-
loma, rabbinical ordination and
an M.S. degree in Jewish educa-
tion. He also earned an M.A. de-
gree in music education from New
York University.
In addition to his rabbinic and
cantorial experience, Rabbi-
Cantor Feigelman is an authority
on Jewish music and liturgy and
has written and lectured widely in
this field. A lyric baritone, he has
participated in cantorial concerts
in New Orleans, Cleveland and in
Montreal, where he served as can-
tor at Beth Israel Congregation of
Cote St. Luc since 1976.

Rosh Hashanah greetings
to our friends and relatives.
May the coming New Year
be ever joyous for you
and your family.

Bonds tab card

During this year's High Holy
Day services, congregants in
synagogues throughout the
United States and Canada will be
able to make their commitments
to purchase Israel Bonds and $250
Israel Certificates through the
use of special tab cards.
Tab cards have traditionally
been used by holiday worshipers
since the start of the Israel Bond
High Holy Day Appeals in 1951 to
observe the injunction against
writing on the most sacred of all
Jewish holidays.
This year, as Jews celebrate two
anniversaries — Israel's "Double
Chai" and United Jerusalem's
"Chai" — the High Holy Day tab
card will include a $36,000 "Dou-
ble Chai" Prime Minister's Club
tab and an $18,000 United
Jerusalem "Chai" Trustees tab, in
addition to the tabs denoting
Bond purchase denominations of
$25,000, $10,000, $5,000, $1,500,
$1,000 and $500.
