The course, taught by au- diologist Eileen Sarb, will be aimed at increasing participants' knowledge of hearing and hearing loss and helping them establish better communication strategies. The machine lets physicians monitor the baby's heartbeart as early as five weeks, and to see kidneys, individual finger joints I and as early as 13 weeks, the lenses of the eyes. Sinai is the first hospital in Michigan to acquire the machine, of which only a dozen exist nationwide.
