The event is open to all in grades
six, seven and eight.
B'NAI DAVID Story Hour
(age 4-7) and Junior Congrega-
tion will meet every Shabbat at 10
a.m. Children learn prayers, cus-
toms, blessings and games relat-
ing to Jewish life and tradition.
The groups are led by advisers
Joyce Lang and Laura Lazarus.
There will be a Shabbat lunch-
eon Saturday, immediately fol-
lowing services. Admission is
free, and all are welcome.
The following groups are avail-
able to members and non-
members: Shalom,
kindergarten-grade two; Ruach,
grades three-five; Masada, grades
six-eight; Atid, grades nine-12.
Talit and Tefilin, for teens age
13 and older, will meet Sunday
mornings, beginning Oct. 7. All
interested youth are invited. The
morning includes services, break-
fast, discussions and a rec-
reational event. For information,
call the youth office, 557-8325.
At 1 p.m. Sunday Shalom/Story
Hour will have an arts and crafts
session. Ruach will have a games
afternoon at 1 p.m. Sunday, with
adviser Miss Lazarus. Masada
will have a mystery trip with ad-
viser Maureen Broder at 1 p.m.
Sunday.
Atid will hold a general meet-
ing at 1 p.m. Sunday to discuss
future events and elections.
All of the above activities are
free of charge. Reservations are
due by 11 a.m. Sunday. For reser-

BBYO

"BBYO Fever — Catch It" is the
theme of this year's kickoff dance,
which will take place Saturday at
Southfield-Lathrup High School
at 8:30 p.m. The dance is open to
all Jewish youth. Admission is
free to all registered members of
AZA and BBG. Non-members and
prospective members will be ad-
mitted at a nominal fee. Music
will be provided by John Sapien of
Dance With Me Productions.
Coordinators are Ron Kup-
persmith of Akiba AZA and Jodi
Leichtman of Brice BBG. Staff
coordinator is Brian Ackerson.
The next meeting of the Great
Lakes AZA Council will take
place on Monday at 7 p.m. at the
B'nai B'rith Building. Each chap-
ter should be represented at the
meeting with at least three dele-
gates. A decision on the Council
fund raising will be made and
