UHS women plan annual donor

The Woman's Auxiliary of the
United Hebrew Schools will hold
its annual donor luncheon on Nov.
7 at 12:15 p.m. at Cong. Beth
Achim. The program for the af-
ternoon will feature Cantor
Harold Orbach of Temple Israel
who will present musical selec-
tions.
The purpose of this donor
luncheon is to raise funds to be
awarded to United Hebrew School
students and alumni. Applicants
may receive funds toward teacher
training programs and schol-
arships to attend Hebrew-
speaking summer camps. Grants
for study programs in Israel for
high school and college students
are also provided.
Contributions will help provide
funds to the Midrasha Library,
provide prizes for the nursery
school program, and sponsor
awards for art and writing con-
tests in the UHS. The Woman's
Auxiliary of the United Hebrew
Schools goal is to train future
teachers and leaders in the
Jewish community.
Donor luncheon committee

Jean Alspector, Bess Axelrod,
Shula Boros, Marion Bronstein,
Sadie Goren, Micki Grossman,
Jean Levy, Sonia Lipenholtz, Ann
Mickel, and Co-Presidents Emily
Tukel and Betty Weiner.

Leader seminars
slated for women
The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion's Women's Division will
begin a series of leadership de-
velopment seminars at 9:15 a.m.
Oct. 9 at the main Jewish Com-
munity Center. Succeeding pro-
grams on Oct. 16 and 23 will be
held at the Jewish Vocational
Service and United Hebrew
Schools, respectively.
The programs will focus on the
goals of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration, the role of the Women's
Division within the community
and critical issues that effect the
community as a whole.
Eileen Wasserman is chairing
the 1985 leadership seminar
planning committee; Pnina Basse
is the associate chairman.
