noon-to-2 p.m. banquet . . . The
large group responded as it has

The restaurants represented
the 15 chapters of Michigan Res-
taurant Association (MRA) cover-
ing all areas of the state . . . MRA,
headquartered in Birmingham,
represents some 1,800 members
and 3,000 food service establish-
ments in Michigan.
THIS IS TENTH season for
Birmingham-Bloomfield Sym-
phony . . . and BBSO's conductor
and musical director, Felix Re-
snick, has been on the podium
from its beginning.
Its tenth season this year offers
two series of concerts in two loca-
tions . . . Series A in West Bloom-
field and Series B in Birmingham
. . . Opening concert, Oct. 7, is
George Gershwin's great Porgy &
Bess.
KATIA DU'UN at piano bar of

Friday and Saturday evenings,
has only been playing and singing
just over a year, but brings a lot of
poise and presentation to match
her beautiful voice and fine styl-

Hilberry Theatre
opens new season
The Hilberry Repertory
Theatre's 1984-1985 season opens
Sept. 28, 8 p.m., withHamlet. Per-
formances, by Wayne State Uni-
versity's graduate repertory com-
pany, are at the Hilberry Theatre
at Cass and Hancock in Detroit.
The season also will include
Shakespeare's Twelfth Night,
Thornton Wilder's Our Town,
Sheridan's The Rivals, Tennessee
Williams' A Streetcar Named De-
sire, and Hotel Paradiso by
Feydeau and Desvallieres.
