Survived by her husband, William; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Robin) Rubalcava of Fannie Zumberg Kay dies at 85 Fannie Zumberg Kay, former secretary of the Yiddish Folks Fa- rein, died Sept. 7 at age 85. Born in Russia, Mrs. Kay lived 82 years in the U.S., 50 of them in Detroit. She was the past noble grand of the Rebecca group of the Odd Fellows and financial secre- tary of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hebrew Benevolent Society. She is survived by two sons, Morton and Nathan; four daugh- ters, Mrs. Louis (Esther) Gerofsky of London, Ont., Canada, Mrs. Lester (Shirley) Fried Taubman, Mrs. Harold (Natalie) Greenwald Golden and Mrs. Effron (Minnie) Adelson; three brothers, Albert Becker of Milwaukee, Wis., Mor- ris Becker of Tucson, Ariz., and Sam Becker of New York City; three sisters, Mrs.-Sylvia Blanks- tein of Glendale, Wis., Mrs. Max (Sarah) Glazer of Wisconsin, Mrs. Pearl Cohen of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Builder Marvin Canvasser dies Marvin A. Canvasser, a partner in the firm of Canvasser Brothers Building and Investments, died Sept. 6 at age 62. Born in DetroitNr. Canvasser also was an attorney, builder and engineer. He was graduated with honors from the University of Michigan. He also was graduated from the Detroit College of Law in 1972. He was a member of the Engineering Society of Detroit, Temple Beth El, Temple Israel and Delta Theta Phi. He leaves his wife, Martha; children, Alan, James, Mrs. Michael (Judy) Redmond, Mrs. Scott (Charlene) Brooks, Mark Zausmer, Mrs. Bruce (Jan) Kar- bal and Nancy Zausmer, his mother, Mrs. Charles (Ada) Can- vasser; three brothers, Donald, Robert and Byron; and four grandchildren. Joseph Miller, had roofing firm Joseph Miller, founder and owner of Miller Roofing Co. of De- troit, died Sept. 6 at age 73. Born in Russia, Mr. Miller founded his company in 1942. He has retired, but his company con- tinues to operate. Prior to founding his roofing company, he was in the grocery business and owned Miller's Deli- catessen. He was a member of Temple Is- rael, Oakland Century Lodge of B'nai B'rith and was a boating enthusiast. He leaves his wife, Goldie; a son, Melvin; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Jacqueline) Woolf and Mrs. Jerrold (DeDe) Weinberg; a brother, Harry; a sister, Mrs. Abe (Rebecca) Green; eight grandchildren and one great- grandson. Accountant Leon Greenblatt dies Leon Greenblatt, an accountant for the state of Michigan, died Sept 7 at age 78. Born in New York, Mr. Greenblatt was the president of the Michigan State Employees Retirement Association of South- eastern Michigan at the time of his death. He leaves his wife, Mabelle; three sisters, Mrs. Abraham (Esther) Kuhn of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Stanford (Lillian) Kovarsky of Morton Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Jack (Ann) Mann. JULIANA REIN, 94, of South- field, died Sept. 11. Survived by two sons, Zev Ran and Yacov Ran, both of Israel; two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Ferencz and Mrs. Sandor (Elizabeth) Weiss; 14 grandchildren and 29 great- grandchildren.
