Born in Russia, Mr. Toby lived Canadian Jewish leader dies at 80 • Montreal (JTA) — Bernard Bloomfield, a prominent Jewish leader and president of the Cana- dian Manufacturers Association, died Aug. 30 at age 80. Mr. Bloomfield was former president of the Jewish National Fund of Canada and the founder of the Canada-Israel Chamber of Commerce. A long-time supporter of Jewish education in Canada, Mr. Bloom- field held the title of"Governor for. Life of the Jewish People Schools in Canada." Mrs. Rosenberg Pauline Rosenberg, a member of Jewish communal organiza- tions, died Aug. 30 at age 80. Born in New York City, Mrs. Rosenberg lived 73 years in De- troit. She was a member of Cong. B'nai David, Pinsker Progressive Aid Society of which she was a former officer and a life member of the Jewish Home for Aged. She leaves a brother, Samuel F. Miller; a sister, Mrs. Morris (Hannah) Hochman of Chat- tanooga, Tenn.; nieces and nephews. 59 years in Detroit. He also was the foundertf General Auto Parts in Pontiac. He was a member of Cong. B'nai Israel of West Bloomfield, Yiddish Folks Farein, Pontiac Lodge of the Elks and Joe Jacobson Lodge of B'nai B'rith.
