Genis and his wife are both mathematicians. Genis' specialty is in the theory of probability, and although a graduate of Moscow University, with a doctorate de- aree ) he has not been able to work b in his field since he applied for an exit visa. He now does heavy labor as a loader, working 14 hours a day to try to support his family. Mrs. Genis, a graduate of the Teacher's Institute faculty of Moscow University, knows some English as well as her native Rus- sian. Her employment at this time is uncertain. Genis is a brother-in-law of the refusenik Yuli Kosharovsky. Whenever possible, Genis attends the scientific seminars for re- fuseniks in Moscow. Bar mitzvah is celebrated Steven Scott Schulman, son of Michael and Linda Schulman, celebrated his bar mitzvah Aug. 18 at Cong. Beth Isaac, Trenton, Mich. Steve was joined by his father who conducted the service. Grandparents are Ben Magza- min of Omaha, Neb., and Murray and Carol Schulman of Tamarac, Fla. Great-grandmother, Ger- trude Nussbaum, 90, also of Tamarac attended.
