Oak Park starts
new outreach
program

The Outreach Office of the Oak
Park Recreation Department is
establishing a program called the°
Widowed Persons Service spon-
sored through the American
Association of Retired Persons
and the National Retired
Teachers Association to offer
practical information as well as
emotional support for newly
widowed men and women of all
ages in the area.
For information, call the Out-

tween 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday
through Friday.

Entertainment
for kids in
Southfield

The Southfield Cultural Art;'
Division has begun a new format
in 1984 called "Kids Koncerts."
The shows will feature magic,
puppetry, music, and mime for
children's entertainment.
The Saturday series begins Oct.
27 at 2 p.m. with the Miniken
Travelling Players, a puppet show
for children ages 3-10 that
encourages audience participa-
tion.
All shows will be held in the
Southfield Parks and. Recreation
Building, Room 115. For informa-

Benefit slated
for Oakland
County retarded

Little Caesars is sponsoring an
Arc-toberfest Sept. 22, at 4 p.m. at
the Strohaus. The Arc-toberfest
proceeds will be donated to the
Association for Retarded Citizens
of Oakland County to support
programs and services for persons
who are mentally retarded.

West Bloomfield
gallery features
new exhibit

The I. Irving Feldman Galleries
in West Bloomfield will have an
exhibit, "Forms and Figures"
featuring various prints,
watercolors and canvases.
The show will be on display
through September. Gallery
hours are Monday through Satur-
day, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Thurs-
day, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Choral group
to hold auditions

The Music Study Club of Met-
ropolitan Detroit's choral group is
taking appointments for audi-
tions in September. For appoint-

The choral group will meet at
10 a.m. Mondays at the Southfield
Civic Center, beginning Monday.
