Ramah names
new directors

New York — The ap-
pointment of two new
Ramah camp directors was
announced last week by
Edward B. Joseph,
president of the National
Ramah Commission, and
Dr. Burton Cohen, national
director of the network of
Hebrew speaking educa-
tional camps. Ms. Judith
Markose of Fair Lawn, N.J.,
was named to Camp Ramah
in Canada, and Ms. Cheryl
Rae Skolnick of Philadel-
phia to Camp Ramah in the
Poconos. Both women will
assume their new positions

vitation from the Mexican
government to perform at
the Cervantino Festival.
The 15-member company
communicates movement
cues to each other throuh a
"vibrational" method
created by Moshe Efrati
who formed the group in
1978. Kol Demama's artis-
tic achievement, in which
the hearing and the deaf
dancers are indistinguisha-
ble from eah other, is based
an a technique whereby the
ensemble's deaf dancers
pick up the vibrations
through the sound of their
Feet, as well as light shoul-
der taps, the brushing of
fingers, or even facial ex-
pressions from the hearing
dancers, all of which are
built into the choreography.
