Fresh Air
Society slates
meeting, dinner

The Fresh Air Society
will hold its annual meeting
and dinner celebration 6:30
p.m. Oct. 2 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue in Farmington
Hills. The society will vote
on its 1984-1985 slate of
officers at the meeting.
Nominees include:
Michael Maddin, president;
Dr. Richard Krugel, vice
president; Donna Slatkin,
secretary; and Jonathan
Haber, treasurer.
Nominated for a three-
year term on the board of
directors are: Maddin, Dr.
Krugel, Haber, Joel Ger-
shenson, Rhoda Medow,
Sally Jo Levy, David
Levine, Howard Tapper, Ju-
lian Lefkowitz, Pamela Op-
perer, Sidney Feldman and
Jane Sherman.
Meanwhile, the Fresh Air
Society will dedicate its
Bert and Toba Smokier
Pioneer Skills Center at
Camp Maas 1 p.m. Sept. 2.
The public is invited to
attend the dedication and
participate in candle and
rope making and wood-
working.
In addition, the society
announces a new physical
fitness course, dedicated in
memory of past president
Mr. Milton Maddin, is now
under construction.

Haircut-a-thon
to benefit MDA

A haircut-a-thon to bene-
fit the Muscular Dystrophy
Association will be held 9
a.m.-9 p.m. Sept. 3 at the
Charisma Salon, 37270
Five Mile Rd., Livonia.

Trade mission
to Israel set

Albany, N.Y. (JTA) —
New York state will under-
take a second trade "mini-
mission" to Israel in De-
cember, State Commerce
Commissioner William
Donohue announced.
Sponsored by the State
Commerce Department's
Division of International
Commerce as part of its con-
tinuing program to promote
and expand sales of Empire
State products throughout
the world, the week-long
trade mission to Israel is
being planned with the
cooperation and support of
the United States Foreign
Commercial Service, the Is-
raeli Ministry of Industry
a'nd Trade and the
American-Israel Chamber
of Commerce.
