More than 1500 delegates
will participate in the 89th
National Convention of the
Jewish War Veterans of the
U.S.A. Sunday through
Sept. 2 at the Hyatt
Regency-Crystal City Hotel
in Arlington, Va. The JWV
Ladies Auxiliary (JWVA)
will be holding its 57th na-
tional convention simul-
taneously.
The opening convention
session will take place on
Wednesday with the dedica-
tion of the new building
housing the national head-
quarters of the JWV of the
U.S.A., its Ladies Auxiliary
and the JWV USA National
Memorial Inc. The Congres-
sionally chartered National
Memorial is dedicated to
commemorating participa-
tion and sacrifices of
Jewish-Americans in the
U.S. Armed Forces from
pre-Revolutionary War
times to the present.
On Thursday representa-
tives from the two major
political parties will discuss
a variety of domestic and
foreign policy issues during
a presidential candidates
forum. On that same day,
Yosef Yaakov, Consul Gen-
eral, State of Israel, will ad-
dress the convention dele-
gates on current issues in
