THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS 1)111/ 14 I 11f Anil Al LISTENING POST HYATT REGENCY 0 DEAR3( RN presents "MASS APPEAL" COMEDY by Bill C. Davis MAIL DEPT.... "This is a story about two loving and dedicated human beings. Bill, a Welshman, roly-poly, red-cheeked, silver-haired, always smiling, is the bus driver for the Oak Park Community Center Senior Citizens bus. Every other Thursday or Friday, early in the morning, he picks us up at the Lincoln Towers and surrounding area. Bill steps out of the bus and helps us on, greeting us by our ethnic names, 'Malke, Sora, Hannah — on and on. "There are about 15 passengers. On the way to Farmer Jack, he regales us with humorous stories. At this point he has us all laughing, forgetting our aches and pains. We arrive at Farmer Jack and off we go to shop. Within an hour we come out with all our packages and he helps each one of us onto the bus. For those who do not live at the Lincoln Towers, he helps each one and walks them to their door. That's Bill. Then there is Tom, 6foot 2 inches, a young student, who works three days a week, driving those who have appoint- ments with their doctors, in a large community center auto. He greets us with a cheery smile, inquires about our health and helps us off saying, 'I hope you get a good report.' "P.S. I love your paper. There's something for everyone." Julia Nathan BEAUTY AND HEALTH HINTS ... By Tamara Friedman . . . "To get really cool, forget a cold shower. "For an after-sun cool down, apply a moisturizing mask like plain yogurt to your face. Leave on for half an hour. Rinse with tepid water." LOOKING BACK On Columns Of Yesteryears... Nov. 6, 1964 . . .
