ZOA delegates convene here

Current developments in
Israel and on the world
Zionist scene will be the
theme of,the convention of
the national executive
committee of the Zionist
Organization of American
meeting at the Southfield
Ramada Hotel this
weekend.
At the opening session at
9 p.m. (correct time) Satur-
day, at the Zionist Cultural
Center, national ZOA
President Alleck A. Resnick
will deliver the address.
Guest speaker will be Con-
gressman Howard Wolpe
(D-Lansing). State Sen.
Jack Faxon will deliver
greetings, announced Dr.
and Mrs. Sidney Z. Leib,
co-chairmen of the NEC
planning committee on be-
half of the Metro Detroit
ZOA.
Sunday's sessions will
begin at 9 a.m. At the noon
luncheon Sunday at the
Ramada Hotel, philan-
thropist and world Jewish
leader Max M. Fisher will
receive the Justice Louis D.
Brandeis Award, the ZOA's
highest citation. Judge
Avern Cohn is honorary
chairman of the luncheon.
Resnick will make the
presentation to Fisher.,
Others who will address the
luncheon are: Emanuel
Zippori, consul general of
Israel for the Midwest;
Philip Slomovitz, editor
emeritus of The Jewish
News and honorary vice
president of , the ZOA; and
state and local representa-
tives. Leonard Herman,
president of the Metro De-
troit ZOA, will extend
greetings.
Ivan J. Novick, chairman
of the national administra-
tive board and fomer ZOA
president; Judge Alfred H.
Kleiman, chairman of the
ZOA national executive
committee; Paul Flacks,
executive vice president of
the ZOA; and heads of the
various ZOA departments
also are scheduled to speak.
At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, the
