Carmi Slomovitz named chairman of Magen David Adorn dinner
Carmi M. Slomovitz has
been named chairman of the
annual testimonial dinner
of the Michigan Region of
the American Red Magen
David for Israel (ARMDI) to
be held 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Dr. John J. Mames,
chairman of the Michigan
Region, and Dr. Morris
Starkman, chairman
Medical-Dental Council
ARMDI, said that the event
will honor Paul and Helen
Zuckerman.
Slomovitz, business man-
ager of The Jewish News, is
active on behalf of numer-
ous community and Israeli
philanthropic and educa-
tional causes.
With his wife, Sharron,
Slomovitz serves on the
board of the Michigan
Region ARMDI and they
are the founders-patrons of
the new Magen David Adorn
(MDA) National Blood Cen-
ter, under construction in
Ramat Gan.
They also established a
MDA Paramedics Training
Scholarship and are reci-
pients of the ARMDI
Humanitarian Award and
Helping Hands Awards for
"their lasting dedicated in-
volvement in the well being
and in the destiny of that

of Michigan to determine
the use of and need for local
services by persons age 60
and older in the metropoli-
tan area.
Some 115 persons will be
interviewed anonymously
and confidentially by
phone, their numbers have
been picked at random from
among 12,000 seniors living
in Oak Park, Southfield,
Royal Oak Township and
Huntington Woods.
