Rabbi Weine immigrated to
the U.S. in 1911 and was
educated in Detroit's public
schools. He also attended
United Hebrew Schools in
Detroit, is a graduate of its
first high school class, and
president of its Alumni
Association.
He has been a member
and later the director of
Young Judaea (he met his
wife, Mae, at one of the
clubs he supervised).
Rabbi Weine was
graduated from Wayne
State University in 1927
and from the Jewish
Theological Seminary in
1931. The year 1934 was
special — that year he
earned a Doctor of Hebrew
Literature degree, a M.A.
degree at Columbia Univer-
sity and also married the
former Mae Naftulin.
After teaching a short
time at the UHS' Hebrew
High School, the Weines left
Detroit and the rabbi began

spanned almost four de-
cades. He served as rabbi at
'the Jewish Educational Al-
liance, Los Angeles; the
Rutland Jewish Center in
Vermont; and at Conga.

Camden, N.J.
In Vermont, he also
served as Hillel adviser at
the University of Vermont.

as dean of Camden Mid-

the Tri-County Board of

Neo-Nazis use media blitz

Bonn (JTA) — A prop-

by a neo-Nazi.group in the
town of Kassel has drawn a
wave of protests and may
result in proceedings
against two local newspap-
ers which printed adver-
tisements of so-called "Na-
tional Front" calling for the
expulsion of foreigners from
this country.
