America New York — The Ameri- can Jewish Committee has begun an investigation into the state of human rights and Jewish-Christian rela- tions in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. - Heading up the two-week project are the AJCommit- tee's director of interna- tional relations, Rabbi Marc Tanenbaum, and Jacobo Kovadloff, the organiza- tion's director of South American affairs. The two will meet with heads of state, foreign ministers, religious and communal leaders and human rights groups in each of the coun- tries, according to the AJ- Committee. The study is being under- taken so that the committee may obtain firsthand in- formation on the problems and prospects for Jewish communities in the three South American countries. 2 IDF . soldiers killed in mishap Tel Aviv (JTA) — Two IDF soldiers were killed and four civilians were injured last weekend during a late-night drag race be- tween two cars along a des- erted stretch of road in the Galilee. The names of the victims were not released. The accident occurred as a group of teenage members of a Galilee kibbutz were re- turning from a party early Sunday morning.
