New irrigation
method brings
corn oil record

Tel Aviv (ZINS) — Israel
is now producing 800 kilos
of corn oil from each dunam
(quarter-acre) of land, ac-
cording to a report in the
daily newspaper Ha'aretz.
The record production for
corn oil is largely the result
of a new irrigation method
developed by Dr. Israel Le-
ven, a member of Kibbutz
Kfar Giladi, the paper said.
The 800-kilo output is
nearly four times greater
than the production rate in
the United States.
