"I attribute our tremen- dous rate of growth to three . factors," said Rabbi Paul Freedman, USY director. "Returning pilgrims praise the program 'to their friends; we place an intense emphasis on health and safety; and we offer superior. activities to our youngsters." The 620 participants will participate in educational activities incuding work on a moshav '(cooperative set- tlement)', field school with their Israeli counterparts, a tzedakah (philanthropy) program, a five-day camp- ing trip in the Galilee, and a three-day seminar at a Holocaust documentation center. The Zionist Confedera- tion House is planned as an :apolitical cultural center for the residential and visiting populations of Israel's capi- tal. The House is the most recent 'of an extensive net- work of projects initiated and funded by the World Confederation of Zionists to strengthen links between Diaspora Jews and Israel, and emphasize the cen- trality of Israel in Jewish life.
