Heroes Road, pictured above, will be named in honor of Detroiter Samuel Hechtman and
will service physically handicapped students and faculty at Bar-licin University at its main •
campus in Ramat Gan, Israel. The Heroes Roctd is part of a network of special ramps, roads
and parking facilities created to accommodate the handicapped.
,
A project to provide
barrier-free access to all
buildings for Bar-Ilan Uni-
versity's war-injured stu-
dents will soon be dedicated
in honor of Detroiter
Samuel Hechtman
recognition of his long-time
association with Bar-Ilan as
well as his special support of
this project!'
The formal dedication
will take place at the an-
nual Bar-Ilan dinner to be
held Sept. 18 at which
Hechtman will be the uni-
versity's guest of honor.
The Hechtman Heroes
Road is a system of ramps
and other facilities that will

dents, most of whom are suf-
fering war-related injuries,
to gain barrier-free access to
the entire Bar-Ilan campus.
This year's dinner marks
the beginning of Bar-Erin's
30th academic year.
Hechtman's association
with the university began
in 1952, three years before
Bar-Ilan's founding.
