Abraham Rose, an active
member of Jewish com-
munal organizations, died
July 8 at age 85.
Born in Russia, Mr. Rose
resided in Flint for the past
56 years. He was a member
of Flint's Cong. Beth Israel
and a former member of
Flint's Temple Beth El.
Mr. Rose was a sponsor of
the College and Cultural
Development Center in
Flint. He was active in the
United Jewish Appeal since
the founding of the State of

Israel in 1948. He was re-
sponsible for the immigra-
tion of most of his family
and others prior to World
War II.

He leaves three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Robert (Eleanore)
Risman of Cleveland, Ohio,
Mrs. Milton (Marlene)
Rosenbaum and Linda, both
of Flint; two sisters, Anna
Kass of Chicago, Ill., and
Celia Shoichet of Toronto,
Ont.; and six grand-
daughters. Interment Flint.
