Shower the bride-to-be
with an elegant tea party
complete with real, fancy
desserts. There are two ap-
proaches to such an affair.
Either the hostess could
prepare all the desserts her-
self, or she might ask each
guest to bring along a favo-
rite homemade treat.
As an added bonus, the
hostess could put a blank
recipe card in each invita-
tion, and request that
guests fill it in with a favo-
rite dessert recipe. All the
cards would then be filed in
a small recipe box, and pre-
sented to the future bride as
a very special, personal
shower gift.
In addition to desserts,
the menu could feature an
interesting selection of cof-
fees and teas — perhaps
some of the packaged ones
which are seasoned with a
variety of spices and herbs.
And, it would also be pru-
dent to include an attractive
fresh fruit basket or an as-

sortment of colorful, cut-up
fruit for those who must
count calories.
All of the following des-
serts can be made at least a
day or more ahead.
