Tel Aviv (JTA) — The air
force unveiled its latest
radar equipment this week,
designed for use by ground
troops to detect small, slow,
low-flying aircraft. The sys-
tem is installed on a truck
and insulated against
chemical and electronic
warfare.
The Israel Defense. Force
claims the new equipment
ranks with the best of its
kind in the world. The man-
ufacturer remains a secret
but according to the IDF,
the equipment was adapted
to suit Israel's require-
ments, indicating it was
made abroad. It has been
used in Lebanon.
