Risa Krupoff twinned the
observance of their b'not
mitzvah at Adat Shalom
Synagogue with Alena
Flekel, daughter of Efim
and Svetlana Flekel of
Odessa, USSR, on June 30.
Flekel is a metal lathe
operator and Mrs. Flekel is
a seamstress. Authorities
refused their request to
immigrate on the grounds of
insufficient kinship.
Both Flekel's mother and
aunt live in Israel. He
studies Hebrew in the hope
of a speedy reunification
with his loved ones in Israel.
Elizabeth and Risa have
written several times to
Alena but have received no
replies. They will attempt to
contact the family by tele-
