NAME IS THE SAME (so far) . . . but except for outside, you won't recognize it ... The Clock, Southfield and Ten Mile, was closed a month to become com- pletely gutted and remod- eled . . . into an altogether new look. It's now light, airy and so very fresh looking ... new orange cushiony booths, new carpeting, new bright curtains over bottom half of windows, light oak eight- seater counter with orange padded seats, new trellis- covered mirrors, green pad- ded chairs at tables, brown and beige stained colorings throughout. Coleen and Tom Knight have made quite a transi- tion in the all-new, immacu- lately clean-looking decor . including a fresh-water fish aquarium. This Clock restaurant isn't like your normal one when it comes to food . Home-cooked chicken rice soup was full-bodied and tasty, salad was uniquely served with two bowls (salad and dressing sepa- rate, on a large platter) . The '/2 chicken dinner ($3.99) is a standout that you won't see at any other Clock restaurant ... nor do any make their own pas- tries . . . which is Tom's forte. Falashas protest Israeli 'inaction' on immigration Jerusalem (JTA) — About 1,000 Ethiopian Jews demonstrated last week in Jerusalem against "gov- ernment inaction in helping their families to immigrate to Israel." Many demonstrators have not accepted the gov- ernment's claim that it was doing its best to save Ethiopia's Jews, and that publicity might hurt the cause. They said the situa- tion could not get any worse. The demonstration was held outside Binyanei Haooma, site of the session of the Zionist General Council. The group then moved to the Prime Minis- ter's office, where after a six-hour sit-in, a represen- tative of the Premier told them Yitzhak Shamir would receive a delegation of the group this week.
