In 1953, a committee
founded the synagogue,
which was temporarily
called the Oak Park
Synagogue and Center, and
followed the Conservative
Jewish tradition.

Persons interested in
building the new synagogue
contributed funds for its de-

were made for a Sunday
School, ladies auxiliary and
men's club. The committee
met with members of the
community's other Conser-
