THE WRITE WORD

If you find the right gift a chore,
And written words don't flow for you,
Let the "write words" from my pen pour,
To make a portrait fresh and new.
A character sketch I will create
To mark whatever you celebrate.
So let my "Write Words" speak for you,
And convey portraits, Oh so truel

Peru hits own
Zionism vote

Lima (JTA) — A leader of
Peru's ruling Accion Popu-
lar Party has firmly re-
pudiated the vote by the
Peruvian delegate to the re-
cent World Interparliamen-
tarian Conference in
Geneva in favor of an Iraqi
resolution affirming the
"Zionism is racism" resolu-
tion adopted by the United
Nations General Assembly
in 1975.
Javier Alba Orlandini,
secretary-general of Accion
Popular, told a delegation of
leaders of Peru's Jewish
community that the vote
represented the "personal
attitude" of the delegate, a
member of Parliament, who
did not consult with the
government and does not re-
flect the official position of
Accion Popular.
Orlandini, who is second
vice president of Peru, re-
ceiyed three leaders of the
Associacion Judia del Peru,
the central representative
body of the Peruvian Jewish
community and a World
Jewish Congress affiliate,
at his office in the National
Parliament. The delegation
consisted of Zurik Rad-
zinsky, president of the As-
sociacion Judia; Eduardo
Bigio, co-chairman of the
WJC's Third World com-
mission; and Yaacov Mas-
son, director of the organ-
ization's human relations
office.
Radzinsky said the main
purpose of the meeting was
to express Peruvian Jewry's
concern over the vote which,
he pointed out, was in con-
tradiction to the Peruvian
position in 1975 when it
abstained in the Zionism-
racism vote.
Orlandini recalled that
President Fernando Be-
launde Terry of Peru had
stated during the official
opening of Parliament his
sympathy toward Zionism
and his affection for Israel
and the Jewish people and
the Hebrew national re-
naissance movement.

Jerusalem (ZINS) —
Those Israelis who believe
in the wisdom of the sun,
moon and stars are prepar-
ing for a new government
and two major altercations
with Arab countries by the
end of the year.
The International Con-
ference of Astrologists,
held in Jerusalem earlier
this spring, predicted that
Prime Minister Yitzhak
Shamir would step down or
be defeated by the end of the
summer, spelling the end of
the Likud-led government.
The astrologists also
foresaw conflicts with Arab
states this spring and again
in October.
