Sharon Bader Lipton is
seeking a seat on the West
Bloomfield Board of Educa-
tion. A former special edu-
cation teacher, Mrs. Lipton,
a University of Michigan
graduate, has long been
active in communal affairs.
Mrs. Lipton is a past
president of the Detroit
Auxiliary of Alpha Omega.
She is on the board of the
Cong. Shaarey Zedek Sis-
terhood and is its treasurer..
She also serves on the syna-
gogue's budget committee
and is a former member of
the membership committee.
Affiliated with the
Jewish Welfare Federation,
she currently serves on the
board of directors of its
Women's Division. She also
serves on the board of direc-
tors of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center.
She recently served as a
youth coordinator for the
70th anniversary commit-
tee of the Anti-Defamation ,
League. Her additional
communal positions include
membership in 1adassah,
Women's. American ORT,
Mizrachi and National
Council of Jewish Women.
Mrs. Lipton also has been
active in the West Bloom-
field School District. She
serves as a board member of
the Doherty School PTO
and is a member of its CGC.

The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies will present
the last program of the 1984
spring series, "The Jewish'!.
Contribution to the Per-
forming Arts," at 1 p.m.
Tuesday in the LaMed Au-
ditorium of the main United
Hebrew Schools building.
Luncheon will be served at
noon.
In celebration of Yom
Yerushalayim, Geri Levitt
will be soloist in a program
called "The Beauty of
Jerusalem Through Song."
Mrs. Levitt has performed
for many of the Jewish
organizations in Detroit as
well as in California, New
York and Chicago. She has
also performed on TV.
