Ida Joyrich The Greater Detroit Chapter of Hadassah will honor Ida Joyrich of Franklin at a tribute lunch- eon on behalf of State of Is- rael Bonds, it was an- nounced by Diane J. Klein, chapter president. The event is scheduled for noon July 9 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek. Luncheon co-chairmen are Inge Kramer and Lucille Weis- berg. Mrs. Joyrich will be pre- sented with the State of Is- rael's Jerusalem, City of Peace Award, "for outstand- ing participation in the Is- rael Bond program which is strengthening the economy of the State of Israel as the foundation for the spiritual and cultural rebirth of the Jewish people." In advance of the tribute luncheon, Hadassah will hold an Israel Bond Honor Societies of Sponsors lunch- eon noon June 18 in the Bloomfield Hills home of Janet Aronoff. Guest speaker will be Dr. Gerald Meister, director of the Rainapo Institute in New York and director of the In- stitute of Interreligious Studies at Bar-Ilan Univer- sity in Israel. A long-time member of Hadassah, Mrs. Joyrich is on the education committee of Hadassah. She is a former vice president of education for the Detroit Metropolitan Chapter; and during her term as education vice president, she instituted an active social action program and began Hadassah's Telebank to respond to is- sues affecting the Jewish community. She also is a member of the board of trustees of Cong. Shaarey Zedek, where- she is public affairs chairman, and on the board of the sisterhood of Cong. Shaarey. Zedek, for which she is auditor and social ac- tion chairman. - Mrs. Joyrich has been active in the movement to free Soviet Jews since its in- ception.
