Dorfmans host
reception for
JTS honorees
Henry and Mala Dorfman
will host a reception 8 p.m.
Monday at their home in
Franklin to greet Detroit-
area recipients of 1984 Cita-
tions of Honor from the
Jewish' Theological semi-
nary of America.
At the reception, Mr. and
Mrs. Dorfman will welcome
honorees Allen and Franka
Charlupski of Cong.
Shaarey Zedek; Harry
Cohen of Cong. B'nai.
Moshe; Mrs. Ruth Fried-
man of Cong. Beth Shalom
and Nathan Goldin of Adat
Shalom Synagogue. The
guests will be presented
with their awards at the De-
troit community-wide
dinner on behalf of the sem-
inary, to be held at Adat
Shalom 6 p.m. June 14. The
dinner will feature author-
educatqr Dr. Chaim Potok
as keynote .speaker.
In addition to naming
their guests of honor for the
seminary dinner, the con-
gregations participating
have appointed dinner co-
chairmen to assist Sharon
Hart and Harvey L. Weis-
berg, who are chairing the
seminary event. The con-
