Fund has proclaimed June 3
as "Green Sunday." The
goal of this•ationwide tele-
phone campaign is to add
acres of new forest to the
more than 160 million trees
planted in Israel by the JNF
since its inception in 1901.

Hubert Humphrey III

Hubert H. Humphrey III,
Attorney General for the
State of Minnesota, will be
the featured speaker at the
Jewish National Fund's an-
nual testimonial honoring
Norman and Esther Allan,
as Couple of the Year, it was
announced by Jack Zwick,
JNF president. The Allans
will be honored at. the
dinner June 20 at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
Humphrey, son of the late
U.S. Vice President, re-
ceived his B.A. degree in
political science at Ameri-
can University in Washing-
ton, D.C. and obtained his
Juris Doctorate at the Uni-
versity- of Minnesota Law
School in 1969. As an attor-
ney, Humphrey had an
active, private law practice
for 12 years. He was elected
Minnesota Attorney Gen-
eral in 1982 after serving
three terms as a state sena-
tor.
He served as chairman of
the State Senate Energy
and Housing Committee
and Legislative Commis-
sion on Energy. He also
served as a, member of the
Education, Finance and
Rules and Administration
Committees, as well as the
Interstate Cooperation
Commission.
