Some plans had to be canceled . . . others looking for places had to take what they could with short notice . . . Such a shame. Pauline and Leo Weiss were among the luckier ones. "For- eight months, we had been planning and vis- ualizing our daughter Adele's wedding at Wabeek Country Club on Saturday, May 12. Thursday after- noon I received a call from the club informing me there was a lock-out and we could not have the club facilities for the wedding as planned. I was shocked, devastated, absolutely beside myself — how could this have hap- pened? I made a number of calls and found that party facilities were all filled — May is a big celebration month. "Through my brother-in- law, Sy Lipten, we con- tacted the caterer, Lynne Schwarz of the Farmington Hills Holiday Inn. She and John Lesinski, her assis- tant, Kim Davidson, the chef, just took over and reassured me that all would go well — and they pulled off a miracle! They served the same hors d'oeuvres and meal that we would have had at the club — with only two days notice! Everyone said the food was delicious. The cooperation and con- cern that everything go well could not have been ex- ceeded. The guests ate, drank and danced to the lively Innovations group and all agreed it was a great wedding. The newly wed Adele and Jay Schnaith concur." '.Pauline Weiss DEVOTION DEPT. . . . Marcia Robinson has a lot of it . . . especially when it comes to her charitable work . . . MIGHTY PROUD par- ents were Flora and Frank Winton . . . as they attended recent preview showing of nationally acclaimed daughter Susan Winton Feinberg's newly decorated Riverfront model. Was a celebration of their own, also . . . as Flora and Frank toasted their 42nd anniversary. Susan is with Walter Herz Interiors, and last year received one of five awards for residential design excel- lence given by Chicago De- sign Resources . . . Her nationwide note is for resi- dential and commercial work in Michigan and the country. NEW LABEL on de- signer dresses around town reads, "Rosanne Designs" ...
