troit has been elected na-
tional campaign vice
chairman of State of Israel
Bonds, it was announced by
Detroiter David B. Herme-
lin, national campaign
chairman.
Holtzman has been active
in the Bond Organization
for more than a decade. A
former general chairman of
the Metropolitan Detroit
Bond campaign, he serves
on the national campaign
cabinet and is a member of
the President's Club, an
honor society of purchasers
of $100,000 or more in Israel

Harold Nelson

Harold R. Nelson, chair-
man of the board of Nelson
Chemical Co., died May 14
at age 73.
Born in Carbondale, Pa.,
Mr. Nelson founded his
any in 1930. He was a
master of Perfection
Lodge of the Masons, a
member of the Hamtramck
Rotary Club, a member of
Temple Beth El, a life
member of the Alpha Epsi-
lon Phi fraternity and a life
master bridge player.
He leaves his wife, Es-
telle; two daughters, Mrs.
Robert (Marcia) Silverman
and Mrs. Samuel (Susan)
Bernstein; a brother, Morie;
a sister, Mrs. Jack (Flor-
ence) Schey; and five grand-
children.

sented at the Kennedy Cen-
ter for the Performing Arts
in Washington Sunday.
The competition, co-

Defamation League of B'nai

Jewish organizations, is
dedicated to the memory of
Dr. Janusz Korczak, a
Polish Jew who sacrificed
his life to remain with or-
phan children in his care
who were sent to a Nazi
death camp during World
War II.
