sent a program on "Beta
Yisrael: The Plight of
Ethiopian Jewry" at 8 p.m.
May 29 at the LaMed Au-
ditorium of the main United
Hebrew Schools building.
Guest speaker will be
Barry Weise, director, Task
Force on Ethiopian Jewry,
National Jewish Commu-
nity Relations Advisory
Council.
Weise has lectured na-
tionally and abroad on the
plight of Ethiopian Jews,
has organized international
educational efforts and has
worked with Ethiopian
Jews.
He has been the director
of the World Jewry Com-
mittee of the Los Angeles,
Calif., Community Rela-
tions Council. A graduate of
the University of California
at Berkeley, Weise was
elected to Phi Beta Kappa
honorary.
The public is invited free
of charge.
