David Honigman of West
Bloomfield Township is
seeking the Republican
nomination for representa-
tive from the 24th District
of the state House of Repre-
sentatives in the Au{
primary election.
Honigman, 28, who has
been an Oakland County
resident for 15 years, is a
magna cum laude graduate
of Yale University where he
was an All-American
athlete. He received his law
degree from the University
of Michigan.
Honigman is a member of
the board of trustees of the
Michigan Cancer Founda-
tion, the Michigan Advisory
Board of the Anti-
Defamation League and the
Alumni Board of Detroit
Country Day School. He
also is a member of the West
Bloomfield Republican
Club, the Oakland County
Republican 300 Club, the
West Bloomfield Chamber
of Commerce and the
League of Women Voters.

The
24th
District
encompasses the townships
of West Bloomfield, Com-
merce, four precincts in
Bloomfield Township, two
precincts in southern White
Lake and the cities of Syl-
van Lake, Keego Harbor,
Walled Lake and Orchard
Lake Village.

Family sought

Washington — The
Jewish Genealogy Society
of Greater Washington is
trying to assist a South Af-
rican woman in tracing her
family.
Mrs. Jenny Korsen of
P.O. Box 33366, 2043 Jep-
pestown, Republic of South
Africa is seeking informa-
tion an her grandfather's
family whom she believes to
have settled in Detroit.

Her grandfather was
Isidor Mendel from Berlin
(the family home was in the
suburb of Konigsburg) who
was born in 1885 and died ;-
the early 1960s in Z,
babwe (formerly Rhodesia)
where he had gone to live
with a son and daughter.
Mr. Mendel was married
to Mrs. Janine Mendel who
died in the concentration
camps. Mr. Mendel lived in
New York at one time and
became an American citizen
in 1944 befofe joining his
son and daughter in South
Africa in the early 1950s.
Mr. Isidor Mendel had
two or three brothers, also
surnamed Mendel, and Mrs.
Korsen believes that they
settled in Detroit.
