Mrs. Bienstock began
with Junior Hadassah and
Senior Hadassah leadership
in the Long Island-
Rockaway area. Later,
when she moved to Detroit,
she became active in many
leadership posts including
the presidency of South
Oakland Chapter.
She has been involved in
many community activities,
including the Allied Jewish
Campaign, American
Zionist Federation, and was
Betty Bienstock
president of the Detroit
Zionist Federation.
She is a graduate of
Hunter College in New
York, and was an elemen-
tary school teacher. Her
family is into its fourth gen-
eration of Hadassah mem-
bership and all the men are
National Associates. She
also is a founder of the
Hadassah-Hebrew Univer-
sity Hospital on Mt. Scopus,
Israel.

Displaced homemaker
program in Wayne, Oakland
The Jewish Vocational
Service and Community
Workshop, a non-sectarian
agency, is continuing its
displaced homemaker pro-
gram for individuals from
Wayne and Oakland Coun-
ties.
Displaced homemakers
are former homemakers
who, through divorce, sep-
aration, widowhood, disa-
bility of spouse or other
crises, have lost their source
of economic support. After
spending many years in the
home caring for family
members, displaced
homemakers find returning
to the -job market a difficult
transition.
The program offers em-
ployability skills, voca-
tional counseling, and job
placement services.

sets bus tour
The Flair Committer
the Greater Detroit Sect,
National Council of Jewish
Women, will host a bus tour
of Old Jewish Detroit be-
ginning at 9:45 a.m. Tues-
day. Leonard Teicher will
conduct the tour.
There is a fee, including
luncheon at the Mykonos
restaurant in Greektown.
