Paramount Pictures TV will shoot the four-hour production in Europe this summer, with air dates scheduled for next season. The program will feature Richard Chamberlain in the title role of the Swedish dip- lomat who went to Budapest in the middle of World War II, snatched thousands of Jews from the clutches of the German commando squads and disappeared into a Soviet prison camp, never to be heard of again U.S. 'too rigid' on Palestinians, McGovern says Former U.S. Sen. George McGovern, addressing a group of Arab-Americans in Dearborn Sunday, called for both Israeli and Palestinian homelands and said that Americans are "too rigid" on the Palestinian issue. The former South Dakota -Senator and 1972 Demo- ratic Presidential nominee was the keynote speaker at the annual banquet of the Greater Detroit Chapter of the American-Arab Anti- Discrimination Committee. McGovern, who had entered this year's Presidential race but dropped out following the New Hampshire pri- mary, sympathized with the Palestinians, saying they "have been pushed around and ignored." Joining in the effort this week were the Canadian Council of Christians and Jews, the Swedish- Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese- Canadian National Council and the Federation Inter- nationale des Droits de L'Homme (International Federation for Human Rights). • The move is an effort to pressure the Soviet Union to release Wallenberg. In 1981, the U.S. Congress made Wallenberg an hon- orary citizen of the United States. Winston Churchill was the only other person given that honor. Baby boom?
