AT OUR FAMOUS LOW PRICES

French, Jewish, American, International Cuisine

THIS IS A FIRST . . .

and probably not the last .. .
There'll be. a barbershop
opening at Ginopolis, 12
Mile and Middlebelt, in
about three weeks . . .
Think of the advantages .. .
have lunch and get a hair-
cut, manicure and shoe

,

shine . . . at the same time
. . . There'll be three chairs
in foyer area where coat
room was . . . with wall torn
down for more space .. .
Naturally, health laws
would strictly prohibit it
from being in the restau-
rant itself.
Stylist Gino Cabada will
be open six days a week (no
Sundays) 12 noon to 9 or 10
at night . . . If some gal ruf-
fles a guy's hair, he can go
right on the premises and
have it blow-dried in no
time.
Ginopolis has been
selected for July issue of
Playboy Magazine (out in
June) as one of the country's
top 38 singles bars.
Another new feature at
Ginopolis . . . Remember
Robin Seymour's "Swinging
Time" on television? (De-
troit's own Dick Clark) .. .
The well-regarded disc joc-
key is there every Sunday
evening now, doing "Oldies
Nite" . . . spinnilag records
from yesteryears.

WASN'T A BIG ONE

because not too many people
knew about it . . . but spur-
of-the-moment birthday
party was given for Marty
Kopitz, new owner with
Mark Papazian and Arsen
Sohegian of former John
Laffrey's on Woodward,
soon to be called Marty's.
SIX BROTHERS are the
owners of Archie's new res-
taurant recently opened on
Orchard Lake Rd. near
Maple in West Bloomfield
Plaza . . . that used to be
known as Bagel Basket Deli
. . . Actually, there are
seven brothers, but one,
Nick, is still a bit too young
. . . He's just four years old.
They're the Palushi
brothers . . . Tom, George,
Mike, Kala, Luca and Paul
. . . serving Greek, Italian
and American food . . . from
sandwiches to lamb chops to
veal parmesan to fish and
chips to broiled whitefish to
roasted or barbecue chic-
ken, etc. . . . with every-
thing on the menu also for
carry-out.
Place looks different .. .
No more solid center wall
separating the two rooms
. . . Now four arches give a
neater look and more com-
fortable feeling . . . Also,
that wall in front is gone,
opening up what before
gave somewhat of a jail-
without-bars look.
Its lighting is fantastic
. . . In one room, over 400
theatrical-style lights beam
down from sets of eight in
the ceiling . . . The other
room has still another light-
ing way with same pattern
but a couple hundred new
type fixtures.
Archie's seats 150 in
booths and at tables .. .
with tasteful pictures on the
wall . . . some done by
brother Luca, also an artist
. . . Tom and Kola handle
the kitchen . . . but if
needed, all can pitch in be-
hind the stoves . . . Sort of

bed on New Year's Eve .. .
singing "Where Are The
Snows," dancing in the bed-
room and drinking cham-
pagne.
Nancy and Phil sing
"When The Kids Get Mar-
ried" . . . and even do a duet
on violin and sax . . . He
plays violin and she the sax
(to some extent).
The clever, humorous
– lines are put across with
much polish . . . They've
done "I Do! I Do!" enough
times, and should be tops
. . . which the two are.
Phil sings, "Father of The
Bride" ("My daughter is
marrying an idiot, the
stupidest of men") . . . He
and Nancy do a duet on
"When The Kids Get Mar-
ried" ("we can have some
fun, all of a sudden we'll be
free, look how happy we will
be") . . . Floodlight follows
them as they sadly say
goodbye to daughter . . . and
Nancy sings, "What Is A
Woman?"
Agnes says she's going
away forever, ("I don't think
you love me anymore") .. .
feeling low because she
thinks her job in life is
finished since the children
have married . . . He gives
her a sentimental gift .. .
charm bracelet with "room
for all those thousands of
grandchildren" . . . and the
two do a very fine duet on
"Somebody Needs Me."
Both take verses on "Roll
Up The Ribbons" . . . They
do makeup on stage in grow-
ing older . . . and get ready
to leave the home for new
tenants . . . "Any glasses
left upstairs?" . . . "Only the
tooth glasses."
"This House" is sung by
Nancy and Phil . . . indi-
vidually and in a duet .. .
for a beautiful finale . . . as
he carries her off stage.
"I Do! I Do!" is not an easy
show to perform, although it
may seem so . . . There is
much dialogue, acting and
singing with both char-
acters important to each
other for its success . . . Con-
tinuous pace without the
slightest lag must be main-
tained at all times . . . This
is not soft task in a two-
person presentation . . .
Well-seasoned and excel-
lent performers such as
Nancy Gurwin and Phil
Marcus Esser are the rea-
son why this can be nothing
but another success in the
long list of fine accom-
plishments by Nancy Gur-
win Productions. .
If you've seen it, you'll
want to see it again .. .
Nancy and Phil have never
been better.

Rose Quartet at Jakks,
