Beach, Fla.; and four grand-
children.
William Kaufman
William Kaufman, a res-
taurant supply executive,
died April 25 at age 73.
A native Detroiter, Mr.
Kaufman founded his busi-
ness, Kaufman Restaurant
and Supply, in the 1940s.
He was a member of the
Michigan Restaurant Asso-
ciation, Variety Club and
B'nai B'rith.
He leaves his wife, Alice;
a daughter, Mrs. Terry
(Patty) O'Connor; two sis-
ters, Mrs. Charles (Rose)
Sterns and Mrs. Joseph
(Ruth) Sein of San
Clemente, Calif.

Joseph Guttmann that was
delivered at the organiza-
tion's fifth world congress
last year in Madrid.

"Masorah Figurata: The
Origins and Development of
a Jewish Art Form" offers a
detailed description of both
the Mesorah, a body of notes
on the textual traditions of
the Old Testament, and the
scribes who compiled this
work.
The paper by Rabbi Gut-
mann is dedicated to re-
nowned Bible scholar Harry
M. Orlinsky.
