married recently at Cong.

Arm of Beth Achim and A.
Irving Schnipper of Cong.
Beth Abraham Hillel Moses
officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence D.
Newman of West Bloom-
field. Parents of the brideg-
room are Mr. and Mrs. San-
dor Adler, also of West
Bloomfield.
Cheryl Goldis was her sis-
ter's matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jenifer

Adler, sister of the brideg-
room, and Susan Adler.
Larry Adler was his
brother's best man. Ushers
were Dr. David Newman,
brother of the bride, and
Alex Goldis.
Also participating in the
ceremony were Mrs. Pearl
Newman, the bride's
grandmother, and Mr. and
Mrs. Israel Abramovitz, the
bridegroom's grandparents.
Following a honeymoon
cruise to Mexico and the
Caribbean Islands, the
couple is residing in Far-
mington Hills.

Jewish Center inaugurates
`Active Adults' leisure series

The Jewish Community
Center has initiated a new
Program for senior adults
and non-seniors in the West
Bloomfield and neighboring
areas.
Entitled Active Adults,
the program is aimed at
meeting the social, rec-
reational and physical edu-
cation ,needs of the adult
community.
At 10 a.m. Mondays, Ada
ndalene conducts Super
enior Fitness. A games af-
ternoon is held at 1 p.m.
Tuesdays. At 1 p.m. Wed-
nesdays, the Walking Club
meets.
Israeli films are shown at
1 p.m. Thursdays, and an in-
formal discussion follows
each film.
Water exercise also meets
at 1 p.m. Thursdays, and in-
cludes warm-ups, exercises
and cool-downs choreog-
raphed to music. The pro-
gram is geared for persons

with arthritis and similar
diseases.
Walk With Joyce meets at
10 a.m. Fridays and is con-
ducted by Joyce Weckstein.
Following a walk, the class
is given a health-nutrition
talk.

Local travel is included,
and the Rabbinical Com-
mission of the Jewish
Community Council will
co-sponsor an Oneg Shabbat
series this summer.
Julie Silver of the Center
staff is the coordinator of
Active Adults. For informa-
tion, call Ms. Silver, 661-
1000, ext. 214.
The Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris Branch of the Center will
feature Sharon Schwartz of
the Midrasha in a lecture at
1 p.m. May 11. Ms.
Schwartz will continue her
series on "The World of Our
Mothers and Fathers: The
Immigrant Experience."
