The Jewish Community
Council of Metropolitan De-
troit will participate in a
voter registration project,
and has gained membership
in the Promote Michigan
Committee. The council
executive committee also
allocated monies to a
number of community
organizations from its
Urban Affairs Fund.
Voter registration will be
promoted by Council's
Community Relations
Committee (CRC) in coop-
eration with the city clerks
of Oak Park and Southfield.
On designated days, the
cities will staff registration
tables and Council will alert
the Jewish community to
the locations and times for
voter registration. Susan
Moiseev of Southfield is
CRC chairman.
Urban Affairs Fund allo-
cations went to the Michi-
gan Welfare Reform Coali-
tion, Westside Mothers,
Michigan Housing Coali-
tion, Common Ground,
NAACP, Metropolitan De-
troit Welfare Reform Coali-
tion, F.O.C.U.S., Urban
League and Citizens for
Better Care.
Also receiving allocations
were New Detroit, Detroit
Transit Alternative, North-
east Guidance Center,
Women's Survival Center of
Oakland County, Federated
Council on Domestic Vio-
lence, North Central Com-
munity Mental Health Cen-
ter, World Food Day, Rubi-
con Odyssey House, Met-
ropolitan Detroit Youth
Foundation and the Detroit
Association of Black Organ-
