with the "invisible" Jewish
elderly of Detroit's inner
city will be honored Tues-
day night at the Jewish
Vocational Service's Project
Outreach recognition
dinner.
Set for 6:30 p.m. at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris
branch of the Jewish Com-
munity Center ; the pro-
gram will feature Norma
Harpaz of Geriatrics
Screening, a non-profit
organization. Her topic will
be "Advocacy and the El-
derly."
Now in its fourth year,
Project Outreach provides
friendship and Jewish iden-
tification for over 200 resi-
dents of Detroit's inner city.-
Project Outreach staff
worker Faye Menczer di-
rects the program's activi-
ties, with the help of volun-
teer Joe LaPides.
Those being honored at
the dinner are: Rose Aaron,
Dr. Leonard Aronovitz,
Harry Aronovitz, Rose
Baggelman, Marilyn Be-
tman, Helen Brenner, Be-
ssie Chase, Bessie David-
son, Ernie Deutsch. Gertie

Music scholarship funded
The Karlene I. Salon
Memorial Music Schol-
arship has been established
by the Detroit Alumni
Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon,
International Professional
Music Fraternity.
Mrs. Salon was a schol-
arship piano student at the
Royal Academy of Music in
London, England, where
she won the bronze and
silver medals.
She was a patron of the
Detroit Alumni Chapter of
Mu Phi Epsilon, a member
of Little Musicale of
Birmingham-Bloomfield,
treasurer of both the sister-
hood of Temple Beth El, and
