Rabbi urges
replacement of
martyred youths
Sydney — An Australian
rabbi has issued a plea to
the world Jewish commu-
nity to replace the children
who were killed in the
Holocaust.
Rabbi Yehoshua Kernel-
man, head of the Sydney
Beth Din (rabbinical court)
has called on Jews through-
out the world to reproduce
more than a million chil-
dren during the next two
years.
"It would be a most fitting
memorial to the 1,500,000
Jewish children who
perished in the Holocaust, if
every Jewish couple
adopted the soul of a mar-
tyred child, by begetting
one child more than origi-
nally planned," the rabbi
said.
